About the Board Observation Program

The Philadelphia Bar Foundation, in partnership with the Young Lawyers Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association (YLD) and the Delivery of Legal Services Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association (DLSC), has developed the Board Observation Program (BOP), an initiative that gives young lawyers practicing in Philadelphia the opportunity to learn more about local public interest legal services organizations and to develop leadership skills necessary to serve on the boards of such organizations as well as succeed in their future careers. 

Through the program, a young lawyer will be paired with a Philadelphia legal services organization so as to observe that organization’s board activities during the one-year program.  

The Board Observer Program would like to thank Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP for hosting a Wine & Cheese Reception on January 30th to welcome all new Board Observers for 2014 and for its generous support of the Program.  The Program would also like to thank of all of the non-profit organizations that are hosting young attorneys as board observers this year, including:
