Federal Funding Cuts Announced - HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP

Many of the nonprofit legal aid organizations supported by the Philadelphia Bar Foundation will be significantly affected by funding cuts included in the proposed federal budget for 2018. The initial budget was announced on March 15.

The budget proposes to eliminate all funding for the Legal Services Corporation, which has championed legal aid for more than four decades.

Major cuts are also proposed to many other federal programs affecting people in Philadelphia struggling with poverty, housing, education, health care, and much more.
