Board Observer Program

networking

The award-winning Board Observer Program (BOP) connects young lawyers with Philadelphia-area nonprofits by offering a year-long opportunity to serve as non-voting members on nonprofit boards. Through this experience, participants gain leadership skills, expand their professional networks, and deepen their understanding of the legal aid and social services landscape. Nonprofits benefit from the fresh perspectives and energy these young professionals bring, while the broader community is strengthened by this exchange. A partnership between the Philadelphia Bar Foundation, the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Delivery of Legal Services Committee, and its Young Lawyers Division, BOP has inspired many alumni to continue serving in nonprofit leadership roles and was recognized nationally with the 2014 LexisNexis "Partnerships for Success" Award.
