The Bar Foundation’s programs support current public interest attorneys and leaders and cultivate the next generation. Through fellowships, the Board Observer Program, trainings, and educational forums, we equip legal professionals at every stage with the tools to lead with purpose and advance equity. These programs strengthen ties between the for profit and nonprofit legal sectors and help build a more just and inclusive legal system.

ACCGP Diversity Corporate Internship Program

Offers paid summer internships to diverse law students in corporate legal departments, combining real-world experience with community service and career development.

Board Observer Program (BOP)

Connects young lawyers with nonprofit boards to build leadership and governance skills while advancing diversity and community engagement.

International Law Lyon Internship Fund

Supports a law student exchange between Philadelphia and Lyon, France, offering stipends to promote diversity, legal education, and shared insights on access to justice.

Judge William M. Marutani Fellowship

Provides a summer stipend to law students pursuing public service internships, honoring Judge Marutani’s legacy as Pennsylvania’s first Asian American judge and a champion of justice.

The Honorable Albert W. Sheppard Scholarship Fund

Supports a law student in a year-long clerkship with Philadelphia’s Commerce Court, offering hands-on experience in business law, legal research, and commercial litigation.
