2014 Board Observer Program
The Board Observer Program kicked off its third year with a Wine and Cheese Reception on February 6, 2014. Participants in the 2014 Board Observer Program gathered at the Philadelphia offices of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP to get to know each other, learn about the Board Observer Program, and enjoy delicious food and drinks. The Board Observer Program was developed by the Philadelphia Bar Foundation, in partnership with the Young Lawyers Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Delivery of Legal Services Committee, to give young lawyers practicing in Philadelphia the opportunity to learn about local legal services organizations and the leadership skills necessary to serve on the boards of such organizations. Now in its third year, the Board Observer Program has doubled in size, including non-legal nonprofit organizations for the first time. The Board Observer Program would like to thank Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP for hosting this event and for its generous support of the Program. The Program would also like to thank of all of the nonprofit organizations that are hosting young attorneys as board observers this year, including: Canine Partners for Life, Centro Nueva Creacion, Chester Children’s Chorus, Community Legal Services, Court Appointed Special Advocates, Dignity Housing, Face to Face, Friends of Farmworkers, HIAS Pennsylvania, PA Health Law Project, PA Innocence Project, Israeli Guide Dog Center for the Blind, Legal Clinic for the Disabled, Mazzoni Center, Nicole Canuso Dance Company, PA Innocence Project, Philadelphia Bar Foundation, Philadelphia VIP, Public Interest Center of Philadelphia, Scenic Philadelphia, SeniorLAW Center, Support Center for Child Advocates, and Theatre Horizon
