Fourteen Interns Selected for ACCGP Diversity Corporate Internship Program

  •

The Association of Corporate Counsel Greater Philadelphia (ACCGP) welcomed fourteen law students into this year's Diversity Corporate Summer Internship Program. 2020 marks the 13th year of the program.

The Diversity Corporate Summer Internship is an award-winning program designed for students who are typically underrepresented in the legal field and have overcome considerable challenges, with the goal of increasing diversity within corporate legal departments.

The program places law students with paid internships in the legal department of distinguished corporate companies. Some 2020 partners include Comcast, Wawa, and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Throughout the eight weeks, Interns will gain meaningful hands on experience with in-house attorneys and a better understanding of the corporate career path and can even lead to a full-time in-house position.

While many corprorate partners are able to directly fund their interns, ACCGP created a fund with the Philadelphia Bar Foundation to ensure that all interns in the Diversity Corporate Internship Programs are compensated. This year, nine internships were supported by the fund.

This year’s students come from a range of local law schools such as Temple University Beasley School of Law, Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, Penn State Law, Widener Delaware Law School, American University Washington College of Law, Rutgers Law School, and Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law.

Congratulations to Sarina Aghazadeh-Alavi, Patience Brown, Max Casal, Sean Craig, John Donahue, Simone Fair, Shyann Gales-Poland, Cesar Hernandez, Vincent Johnson, Stephanie Oppenheim, Kye Kyung Park, Alexis Price, Mariam Sleiman, and Mario Valdivia.
