The Philadelphia Bar Foundation funds nearly 40 legal aid nonprofits, all of whom are doing incredible work in Philadelphia and across Pennsylvania for the communities they serve. Our news round-ups highlight their recent activities:

1/28/2021 - Community Legal Services has brought on Kee Tobar as the organization's first Race, Equity, and Inclusion Director.

1/24/2021 - The Mazzoni Center received its first batch of COVID-19 vaccines and began vaccinating employees. The center has also started vaccinating patients who are health care providers.

1/19/2021 - Good Shephard Mediation Program instructors led a de-escalation training that brought together West-Chester police officers and youth ambassadors of the Chester County youth group, Sanji Strong.

1/19/2021 - The Women’s Law Project and Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts signed a letter to the Pennsylvania General Assembly declaring their stance against new legislation that aims to change the election process for state appellate court judges, making them run in judicial districts rather than statewide.

1/19/2021 - WOAR: Philadelphia Center Against Sexual Violence will work with Temple University’s Student Government director of student health and well-being to further sexual assault education efforts.

1/11/2021 - The Education Law Center (PA) signed a letter urging President Biden’s education transition team to create guidelines that would prevent English learners from compromising their health and well-being for in-person proficiency tests.
