The Public Interest Law Center is Helping Secure Special Education Programs for Philadelphians

The Education Law Center Pa, Drinker Biddle & Reath LLC, and our nonprofit partner, the Public Interest Law Center, are collaborating to secure Philadelphia parents and their children the opportunity to participate in the special education process. This will ensure parents critical services if English is their second language and their children have some type of disability. The federal class action lawsuit is confronting the School District of Philadelphia for failing to provide much needed translation and interpretation serivces to limited English proficient parents of children with disabilities. The case is moving forward in the right direction after a federal judge rejected a request by the school district to discard the claims made against them. All children deserve a fair and appropriate education and we're happy to partner with The Public Interest Law Center in their efforts.
