Morris M. Shuster Public Interest Fellowship Program
The Morris M. Shuster Public Interest Fellowship Program provides educational loan repayment assistance to dedicated legal aid attorneys employed by nonprofit organizations funded by the Philadelphia Bar Foundation. Established in 2003 through a generous $100,000 gift from Morris M. Shuster, Esq., and later expanded by an anonymous donor, the Fellowship helps alleviate the burden of student debt to retain talented attorneys in public interest law. Eligible attorneys with at least three years of service may receive up to $2,500, and those with five or more years may receive up to $5,000. Since its inception, the program has awarded over $160,000 to more than 30 legal aid attorneys, strengthening the long-term stability of Philadelphia’s legal services community.
