The Philadelphia Equal Justice Center
The Equal Justice Center (EJC) is an initiative of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation, created to expand equitable access to justice for all Philadelphians. Through the development of the EJC Virtual Hub – a digital gateway for accessing civil legal support – the EJC is creating a unified, user-centered system that connects people to the appropriate civil legal help. By improving coordination among legal aid providers, the EJC aims to connect people with clear, reliable, and relevant resources. While the plans for a physical building shifted in 2020, the mission remains the same: to reduce barriers and ensure that everyone in Philadelphia, regardless of socioeconomic status or background, can get the legal help they need.
The EJC's Mission
At the Equal Justice Center, our mission is to build a more accessible and equitable civil legal system. We strive to create pathways to just outcomes and to remove barriers for all Philadelphians, by empowering every member of the community with access to knowledge, resources, and innovative approaches through collaborative partnerships.
