Nominations for 2023 Philadelphia Bar Foundation and Pro Brono Awards are now OPEN!

It is time for nominations for the Philadelphia Bar Foundation Award and the Pro Bono Award. Award recipients will be honored at the annual Access to Justice Awards Ceremony on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 6:00 PM at the Fitler Club.

Nominate an exceptional public interest attorney for the Philadelphia Bar Foundation Award!

The Philadelphia Bar Foundation Award, originally established by the Apothaker family to honor Louis D. Apothaker, recognizes a public interest attorney who is dedicating his or her life to equal access to justice by working in the nonprofit legal services field. The award acknowledges exceptional leadership, dedication and accomplishment, and is accompanied by a $2,500 prize.

This important and prestigious honor is presented annually to an individual who represents the legal community’s commitment to promoting equal access to justice, and embodies the mission of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation and its work in support of civil legal aid in Philadelphia.

Nominate a Philadelphia law firm or corporate legal department for the Pro Bono Award!

The Pro Bono Award of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation is given annually to a Philadelphia law firm or corporate legal department that performs outstanding volunteer efforts in providing legal services to those in need. The award recipient demonstrates commitment to the development of pro bono legal services in the region and contributes significantly to innovative approaches to the delivery of legal services.

This award brings important recognition to the amazing pro bono work being done in our community, work that is at the core of the legal profession. This important and prestigious honor is a proud part of the legal community’s commitment to promoting access to justice, as embodied by the mission of the Foundation and its work in support of legal assistance.
