The Honorable Albert W. Sheppard Scholarship Fund
The Honorable Albert W. Sheppard Fund supports a law student in a year-long, part-time clerkship with Philadelphia’s Commerce Court, offering hands-on experience in commercial litigation, legal research, and Pennsylvania civil procedure.
Established in 2013 by the Philadelphia Bar Foundation and the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Business Litigation Committee, this fellowship honors the legacy of Judge Sheppard and his dedication to the legal profession. Students commit 10–12 hours per week during the academic year and receive both a stipend and academic credit through a 3-credit practicum.
Ideal for students interested in business law, the program builds core legal skills and deepens understanding of the judicial process while advancing the Foundation’s commitment to preparing the next generation of public interest and pro bono leaders.
