Amy B. Ginensky is the longest-standing Trustee on the Board. Amy became a Trustee in 2003 and served as Board president in 2009. She has served on many Committees, including Board Development and Fundraising, as well as co-chairing the Individual Giving Committee in 2014. She has been a leader for the Annual Benefit, serving as co-chair in 2006, 2007, and for the Foundation’s 50th Anniversary Benefit in 2014. In 2015, Amy was elected back to the Executive Committee, serving as the Assistant Secretary.
As a senior partner in Pepper Hamilton LLP’s Philadelphia office, Amy is the chair of its Media and Communications and First Amendment practices, and immediate past chair of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. She is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
In her First Amendment practice, Amy represents newspapers, radio and television broadcasters, and Internet publishers. She defends the rights of reporters and editors in libel and privacy cases, advises them in prepublication matters, defends them against subpoenas to testify and represents them in public access and other cases. She has handled hundreds of First Amendment matters, including several jury trials representing the media, and has been involved in most major media cases in the Philadelphia area in the last 20 years.
