The Philadelphia Bar Foundation's partnership is essential to the work Military Assistance Project (MAP) carries out each day to zealously represent a community looking to MAP for representation. Thanks to the Philadelphia Bar Foundation's support, MAP has been able to achieve various successes, such as helping a spouse of a World War II veteran get over $25,000 indebtedness, advocating for a veteran suffering from severe post-traumatic stress and suicidal ideation, and receiving service-connected ratings for two veterans (one at 100%), with back benefits totaling over $10,000 for each individual.
MAP’s program is home to 100+ volunteers, including attorneys with a range of consumer and administrative law experience, CPAs who assist with budgeting, credit repair, and financial planning, and IRS Enrolled Agents. Together with MAP’s internal staff and students from five Delaware Valley area law schools, this team has discharged over $12M in debt and delivered free, high-quality legal services to over 1200 clients. We serve all branches, include spouses and widows, and accept clients with every level of military discharge.
