ACLU-PA Leading the Convo on Cannabis Reform

  •

Our nonprofit partner, ACLU of Pennsylvania, is teaming up with Pennsylvania NORML and Keystone Cannabis Coalition to usher in a new era of marijuana reform.

As a result of Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ new hardline approach that more strictly follows federal prohibitions against marijuana, many advocacy groups across the nation, especially ACLU-PA and its sibling chapters, are hosting events with elected officials such as Rep. Gainey in order to gain traction for a renewed push for federal decriminalization and possible recreation.

Experts working with ACLU-PA have estimated that “[Pennsylvania] can save more than 70 million tax dollars every year by stopping marijuana possession arrests alone, and we can see more than 300 million in new tax revenue for the commonwealth with retail cannabis.”
