Immigration and Employment

Today, many immigrants and low-wage employees are not treated with the same rights as other American citizens. 106,000 workers of the Phildelphia area earn the federal minimum wage or less (BLS), and are not provided fair and equal rights. Of the 232,000 immigrants who reside in Philadelphia, almost all of them face discrimination in the courtroom. Immigrants and low-wage employees deserve equal access to legal services and advocacy. The Philadelphia Bar Foundation supports organizations that provide care for immigrants and low-wage workers through annual, unrestricted grants.
