Philadelphia Bar Foundation Grant Impact

The Philadlephia Bar Foundation is dedicated to promoting access to justice and legal aid to all members of the Philadlephia community. The Bar Foundation's grant provides general operational support for Justice at work, ensuring the organization's continued success in providing aid to low wage workers and their families.

Workers' Rights:

  • Discrimination based on gender, age, disability, race, religion and national origin
  • Workers’ rights to organize and engage in concerted protected activity
  • Protection from unlawful retaliation
  • Access to unemployment compensation and other public benefits

Wage and Hour:

  • Unpaid wages or overtime
  • Pay rates below the minimum wage
  • Unlawful deductions from paychecks

Issues disproportionately affecting women:

  • Sexual harassment
  • Family and Medical Leave Act issues

Health and Safety:
